Orji Okonkwo suffered a groin injury in action for Serie A club Bologna as they recorded a whopping 17-0 win in a pre-season friendly.

According to SCORENigeria, Okonkwo will now be rested for a couple of days as a result of this injury.

“He felt some pains around his groin and had to quit the game,’ a source close to the player said.

Nigeria U20 forward Okonkwo was forced out of the encounter after just 12 minutes of action during which he had provided three assists.

Bologna ran up a cricket score of 17 unreplied goals against Vitrus Acquaviva from San Marino as they step up their preparations for the new season in Italy.

Before this game, Okonkwo was introduced in the second half of his team’s first pre-season friendly, which they won 9-1.
