Injury knocks out Metu

By Daily Sports on July 1, 2017

ABS FC manager Henry Makinwa has revealed that star winger Chigozirim Metu will miss the rest of the season due to injury.

The exciting player sustained the injury when he got clattered by Kano Pillars' centre back Jamil Jamil in Wednesday's Nigeria Professional Football League game which ended 1-1.

Initial prognosis revealed Metu will be out for 12 weeks which has effectively ruled him out for the rest of the 2016/17 campaign.

"We are not happy with this development and I see this as a setback because the lad is an important part of our plans," Makinwa told ABS media on Friday.

"Injury is part of football and we have to cope with it, but this is one of the periods that we need Chigozirim more."

The lad is in good condition now and we will do everything to see that he recovers quickly ahead of next season."

There are other injury concerns for ABS ahead of the away trip to MFM FC at the Agege Stadium on Sunday.

Ernest Governor, Martin Ossy, Chukwuebuka Anaekwe and Adeoti Muiz are all doubtful for the game as they are suffering from various degrees of injuries.
