Uchegbu rues draw v Abia Angels

By Daily Sports on June 29, 2017

FC Robo left fullback Chidinma Uchegbu has expressed disappointment with her side’s goalless draw against top-flight side Abia Angels.

The Lagos landlords drew with newcomers Abia Angels in Wednesday’s Nigeria Women Premier League (NWPL) matchday 9 clash at the Legacy Pitch of the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos.

Uchegbu said her side came determined to pocket the three points at stake.

“It’s a huge disappointment playing to a goalless draw against Abia Angels.

“This is the first time we have dropped points on our home ground in the on-going women’s league.

“I’m not sure there is anything we left undone, maybe we were just unlucky.

“We have taken the result in good faith. Perhaps this is a wake-up call for us to work harder if we are going to achieve the season’s target – qualifying for the Super Four.

“Of course, the draw against Abia Angels is a huge setback, but we remain positive that we will still reclaim the points in other matches.

“We will quickly regroup for our next match on the season’s calendar.

“Abia Angels are not a bad side, they worked very hard for the draw and I’m sure they will be excited with the outcome,” said the FC Robo strongwoman to supersport.com.

The draw against the Umuahia landladies takes FC Robo's total earnings to 12 points, three behind group leaders and title holders Rivers Angels.
