Alimi on Russian clubs’ radar

By Daily Sports on June 23, 2017

Home Eagles and Kano Pillars center-back, Jamiu Alimi is being monitored by two Russian clubs for a possible summer move.

Completesportsnigeria.com gathered from a competent source close to Alimi that Terek Grozny and another unnamed side from Russia impressed with his performance for the Sai Masu Gida side following his return from injury.

"He's on loan at Kano Pillars from Westerlo Academy of Lagos, and if an offer comes in officially then his representatives will discuss with the interested club, but for now those talks about a Russia move are not official," the source told Completesportsnigeria.com.

Alimi joined Pillars in 2015 after stints with defunct Sharks Football Club of Port Harcourt and Shooting Stars of Ibadan.

He also has spells with side Ukrainian side Tavriya and Olympiakos Nicosia in Cyprus.
