Wolfsburg have bought Landry Dimata for 10 million Euros from Belgian club KV Ostende as a direct competition for Nigeria youngster Victor Osimhen.
Last season, Dimata was a revelation in Belgium after he netted 14 goals and provided four assists when he joined KVO from Standard Liege for a mere 500,000 Euros.
Belgian top guns Anderlecht and Club Brugge were front runners to sign him.
The Belgian-Congolese is 19 and he is a big target man, who uses his raw power to great effect.
Wolfsburg Dutch coach Andries Jonker, who was assistant to Louis van Gaal at Barcelona and Bayern Munich as well as worked at Arsenal, is known to work with young players and so both Osimhen and Dimata will get their chance next season to shine.
Wolfsburg will play in the German top flight next season after they won a relegation-promotion playoffs.
