Super Eagles on course to 2018 World Cup, says Imama

By Daily Sports on November 28, 2016

Coach Imama Amapakabo has said the big jump by Nigeria on the latest FIFA rankings has shown that the Super Eagles are on course to qualifying for the 2018 World Cup.
Nigeria are now 50th ranked team in the world after they climbed 10 places from last month.

Eagles assistant coach Imama has now said the rankings have reflected the team’s recent winning run.

“We are happy we have moved up in FIFA ranking, it is good for the country. It is a clear picture of the three straight wins we have achieved recently,” he said.

“It is our responsibility to qualify Nigeria for the World Cup and that has been our goal right from the day we took over as the technical crew of the super Eagle.

“We hope to do more in order to again be the best in Africa and try to build a Super Eagles Nigerians can boast of.”
Imama led Rangers to be crowned Nigeria champions last season and he again expressed confidence they could retain their championship in the new season.

“We can win the league again by redoubling our efforts and forget about the past success,” he said.

“This is a new season with new challenges and we are working round the clock in Benin to get it right and give
reasons to Rangers fans that they can still have reasons to celebrate in the coming season.” (mtnfootball.com)
