Officials have said Chelsea star Victor Moses is to undergo surgery for a toe injury and that explained why he was dropped by Super Eagles for an AFCON qualifier against South Africa.
Eagles officials said Victor Moses informed the team of his surgery and so his omission on the 23-man squad against Bafana Bafana in Uyo on June 10.
The 26-year-old Chelsea right wing-back, who made 34 appearances and scored three goals as the London club reclaimed the Premier League title, was a sensational omission for the AFCON qualifier.
He is Nigeria’s leading scorer in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers after his brace against Algeria in November.
