Nigeria and Leicester City star Wilfred Ndidi is set to have landed a lucrative Coca-Cola endorsement deal.
SCORENigeria reports that discussions have already begun and could be finalised in June, when the Super Eagles host South Africa in an AFCON qualifier in Uyo.
Ndidi is expected to be the face of the grassroots Copa Coca-Cola, a competition which he featured in 2010.
“An offer is on the table for him to be the ambassador for Copa Coca-Cola. It should be finalised by the time the Eagles play against South Africa in Uyo,” a source familiar with the negotiations told SCORENigeria.
The Copa Coca-Cola gave Ndidi’s career a big shot as he subsequently joined the country’s U20 team, the Golden Eaglets, alongside side other youngsters from the competition like Akinjide Idowu and Mustapha Abdullahi.
Ndidi from Nath Boys FC of Lagos has since installed himself in the Leicester City first team since his big-money move in January from Belgian club Genk.
Another now high-profile player from the Copa Coca-Cola is Mikel Agu, who got his first-ever Super Eagles call-up this week after a superlative season in Portugal.
Agu was MVP of the international Copa Coca-Cola in South Africa before he moved to Portugal.
FC Porto have rewarded the defensive midfielder with a new four-year contract.
