There is no gain saying that it is going to be an explosive encounter at the Stamford Bridge this Saturday afternoon, as Chelsea lay in wait to take their pound of flesh from the smoking Gunners as the Arsenal Football Club are known by Premier League admirers and watchers across the globe.
This encounter will not disappoint as both London Clubs go into this game to consolidate their positions on the English Premiership League Table. It is recalled that there has never been any encounter between both sides that has ever been easy, but Chelsea has the edge on head to head going into this all important match.
Over time, Chelsea have always intimidated Arsenal following their physical brand of football particularly during the reins of self-acclaimed ‘Special One’, Jose Mourinho, who always play the mind game against Arsene Wenger, otherwise called Professor prior to any of their encounters and after the games.
Why this game is going to be very crucial to both sides is that Chelsea are topping the table with 55points after Week 22 games, while their North London neighbours; Arsenal are second with 47 points after same number of matches. So, while the Blues will be fighting for the maximum points for two obvious reasons, Arsenal will leave no stone unturned to ensure that they make something out of this game for the same reasons.
One reason that will make Chelsea come out in their best element in this encounter is to maintain their strong on the log and the second reason is to revenge the defeat they suffered in the hands of the Wenger’s wards in their first meeting in the early stage of the season.
It is recalled that in their first meeting at the Emirates, Chelsea were trashed by the Gunners, who stunned them 3-0 in the first half of the game. Though the scoreline did not increase at the end of the game but it was too hard for Chelsea to take. It is important to also recall that since that surprise defeat in the hands of the Gunner, Chelsea took positives out of the game as the defeat turned around their fortunes as they have not experienced any defeat since then.
So, in all intent and purposes, Chelsea see this game as a must win in order to take their pound of flesh from their North London neighbours who pride themselves as the “Pride of London.”
Having said; that it is important to state that Arsene Wenger and his wards are quite aware of what this game portend for them. Losing this game will definitely send them far in the league and winning it will help them reduce the eight point gap between them.
Again, Arsenal would want to use this game to assure their millions of fans the world over that what happened at the Emirate was not a fluke. Therefore, this game is definitely too close to call but one thing nobody can take away from it is the fact that it is going to be interesting game in every standard.
Having said that, there is no gain saying that both sides parade very sound and reputable managers who have a lot to contribute to determine which of the divide the pendulum will swing at the end of 90 minutes hostilities.
Again, one thing fans and supporters of both teams can be sure of is that they are going to witness one of the best EPL matches of the season, as there will be no dull moment throughout the duration of the game. The Oracle Today Sports wishes the two sides the best of luck even as we wish our own Victor Moses, who definitely is going to be one of the players that Conte is going to rely on to deliver the goods. We wish him the best of luck even as he continues in his good run of form that has made him an inseparable part of the team under the current manager, Antonnio Conte.
