The Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) board has expressed their condolences to the Minister of Youth and Sports, Barr Solomon Dalung, over the sudden death of his wife, Briskila Naomi.
Dalung on Sunday took to his Facebook page to announce the shocking death of his wife Briskila, fondly referred to as ‘first lady’, to brief illness.
“I am bereaved: For it is appointed for man to live thereafter comes death and judgment says the Holy Bible. While in the Quran, it states that it is appointed that every soul shall test death.
“My heart is heavy, I cannot continue, I lost my first wife, Mrs Briskila this morning. May her soul and the souls of faithful departed rest in the bosom of the Lord, amen. What a black Sunday,” wrote Dalung.
A shell-shocked Chairperson of the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL), Aisha Falode, described the death of Dalung’s wife as painful, shocking as well as a great loss.
The renowned broadcaster and Caf media committee member prayed the Almighty God to give the bereaved family the fortitude to bear the irreparable and unkind loss.
“The board of the NWFL wishes to express their sadness over the death of Mrs Briskila Naomi, the wife of the Youth and Sports Minister, Barr Solomon Dalung.
“On behalf of myself, the board and staff of the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) we stand in prayers with the Dalung family in this moment of deep grief.
“We pray Almighty God to give Barr Dalung and the entire family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss,” said Falode to supersport.com.
Falode is currently on an official assignment at the on-going Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) in Gabon. (supersport.com)
