Adeshina Issa Gata reveals newly promoted, ABS are in the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) to compete.
The youngster was in action for the Saraki Boys in the 2016 Nigeria National League (NNL) Super Four, which was eventually won by Kastina United who defeated ABS FC in the final.
Issa, who is the younger brother Enyimba forward, Ismail Gata, stated that ABS FC will play good football when the 2017 season gets underway.
"We have one mission: to win on every match, using brilliant football. The management have always told us what our objectives are," Gata told Goal.
"The head coach (Henry Makinwa) has shown great practicality and I think this is a quality that must characterise this team. What counts are the results and we must do everything possible to get them. Then if there will be teams that deserve more we must be equal to them. We are not in the division to make up the numbers.
"What I wish is that this team plays good football, with good intensity, and is convinced of what it can do. To achieve significant results there must be other components, not just one.
"We need belief, technique, intensity, all these are important things. Winning is never easy, but we must start with a belief and the belief that one can and must do their best. This is the starting point," the crafty lad added.
ABS FC will welcome Akwa United to the Kwara Stadium on 15th January, in the week one of the 2017 NPFL season. (goal.com)
