By Daily Sports on November 18, 2016

Former Flying Eagles stars Chidiebere Nwakali and Ifeanyi Matthew are being considered for the Super Eagles friendly against Egypt in January.

A mix of untested foreign pros and players from the domestic league are expected to be involved in a January 9 friendly against Egypt in Dubai, officials disclosed.

Coach Gernot Rohr has already mentioned Austria Wien striker Olanrewanju Kayode as one of those who will be given a chance against Egypt, who will then be preparing for the AFCON in Gabon.

It has now been further gathered that Chidi Nwakali, older brother of Arsenal’s Kelechi Nwakali, as well as midfielder Ifeanyi Matthew re also in line for this test game.

Nwakali established himself at Norwegian IK Start on loan from Manchester City, while Ifeanyi Matthew helped to ensure Lillestrom escaped relegation in the top flight in Norway this past season with some scintillating displays and goals. (mtnfootball.com)
