Under the global auspices of Olympic Solidarity, the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) and the Sport- For-All Commission are proud to announce the 2026 Olympic Day celebration, scheduled for Saturday, June 27, 2026.

Tony Nezianya, NOC's Public Relations Officer in a statement on Tuesday said the annual event served as a premier global platform to champion the benefits of physical activity, offering Nigerians of all ages the opportunity to embrace the Olympic values of Excellence, Friendship, and Respect.

According to him, the regular exercise is a vital pillar of health, and the NOC aims to highlight how simple activities like jogging and walking can burn calories, tone muscles, and effectively de-stress the mind.

Dr Abdul Ibrahim, Chairman of the NOC Sport -For - All Commission, emphasised that the 2026 campaign focuses on inclusivity and the social joy of movement.

He noted that exercising is far more impactful when shared, issuing a clear call to action for every participant to invite someone new to join them in getting active.

Following the record-breaking participation seen in 2025, the NOC has officially dispatched invitation letters to all States of the Federation. State Sport Councils are encouraged to begin preparations immediately to ensure a high-impact event that reaches every nook and corner of the country.

The President of the NOC, Engr Habu Ahmed Gumel, further highlighted that this year’s goal is to bridge generational gaps by using physical activity to foster meaningful connections between youth and older people.

To ensure the success of this nationwide movement, the NOC invites corporate organisations and philanthropic individuals to support the initiative through financial donations or product partnerships.

Beyond the immense benefit to public health, partners will gain significant brand visibility and the opportunity to align with a cause that promotes national unity and wellness.
