Nwabali not desperate for new club
By Daily Sports Nigeria on March 18, 2026
Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has downplayed concerns over his club future, insisting he is in no rush to secure a new team after becoming a free agent.
The 29-year-old parted ways with Chippa United and is currently weighing his options, a situation that has raised questions about his continuity with the national team.
Despite the uncertainty, the shot-stopper maintains that he is relaxed about the next step in his career and confident that the right opportunity will come.
“I’m not worried about being clubless,” he said via Football in Nigeria.
“I don’t have a specific country or league I’m desperate for. Whoever welcomes me and it feels right, I can play.
“Football is about happiness, my happiness comes first.”
Nwabali has recently been linked with a move to Kaizer Chiefs, while reports have also suggested interest from clubs in Libya.
However, the goalkeeper dismissed much of the speculation, noting that most of the reports remain unverified and should be treated with caution.
It remains to be seen if the goalkeeper will make the Super Eagles squad for the March international window.
