Galatasaray supporters are set to pay an emotional tribute to the late mother of Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen with a special tifo display at the Rams Park, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
The planned choreography is expected to take place during one of the club’s upcoming home fixtures, as fans prepare a large-scale visual tribute in honour of the Nigerian forward’s mother, who died when Osimhen was two or three years old.
Osimhen had spoken publicly about his mother’s passing in a personal essay titled “A Prayer From the Gutter” published on The Players’ Tribune, writing, “My mother died when I was two or three. Too young to remember anything except her holding me.”
Last year, he also said, “My mother’s death still hurts me today. She never lived long enough to enjoy the things she sacrificed for.”
Since joining the Istanbul giants, Osimhen has quickly established himself as a fan favourite with outstanding performances and crucial goals.
Sources close to the supporters’ group revealed that the tribute is aimed at showing solidarity with the Nigeria international and appreciating his dedication despite personal loss.
The gesture underlines the strong bond between Osimhen and the Galatasaray faithful, who have continued to rally behind him both on and off the pitch.
