In a spirited display of solidarity and endurance, the Chinwe Bode-Akinwande Foundation successfully staged Walk4Hope 2025, a symbolic five-kilometre awareness walk that spotlighted the struggles of vulnerable widows and their children in Nigeria.
The event kicked off from the Eko Hotel & Suites on Victoria Island, drawing a diverse crowd of participants, including individuals, business leaders, and organisations united by a cause greater than sport — social justice and support for underprivileged families.
As the walkers set off, founder Mrs. Chinwe Bode-Akinwande emphasised the walk’s mission.
“Walk4Hope is a call to society to recognise and respond to the struggles of the less privileged. For over 10 years, our foundation has been championing widows and their children, helping them overcome cultural and societal barriers. Today’s walk is about hope and giving these women a chance to dream again.”
The Walk4Hope 2025 not only tested participants’ stamina but also rallied the community in a meaningful march toward awareness, empowerment, and change.
The foundation’s 10th anniversary earlier this year featured a high-profile conference addressing widows’ issues, underscoring a continued commitment to finding lasting solutions.
Key sponsors FirstBank, Vyrus, Eko Hotel, DigitXPlus, and Truecaller brought the private sector’s power to the forefront.
