Chukwueze wants Osimhen at Milan

Super Eagles forward Samuel Chukwueze is relishing the prospect of playing alongside Victor Osimhen in AC Milan’s attack, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

Chuwkwueze joined the Rossoneri during the 2023 summer transfer window from Villarreal for a deal worth €20 with some substantial bonuses, making him the club’s most expensive signing last summer. He endured a tough 2023/24 season with the San Siro outfit due to a series of injuries that reduced his game time in his debut campaign in Italy.

However, things are looking up for Chukwueze this season, with the winger emerging as one of the club’s standout players during their pre-season tour of the United States.

The winger scored the only goal that saw the Italian giants beat UEFA Champions League winners Real Madrid while also providing other assists.

In anticipation of the new season, the 24-year-old said he would love to see Osimhen, who has become a subject of transfer speculation, in Milan.“I would like to close my eyes, open them again, and see him here in Milan. I always say to him, ‘Are you sure you don’t want to come?’ And he says, ‘Samuel, you know it’s difficult.’” Chukwueze said, as quoted by Pianetamilan.

Osimhen has emerged as one of the most sought-after strikers in Europe, having been linked with moves to Chelsea, Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United, and Liverpool, among others.

However, his hefty €130m release clause has scared off many suitors, with Chelsea considering the option of a loan offer for the striker.

Osimhen joined Napoli from Lille in the 2020 summer for a club record fee of €70m plus another €10m in bonuses.

The 25-year-old has been in top form for the Parthenopeans for the past two seasons, guiding them to their first Scudetto title in over three decades in the 2022/23 season, scoring 26 league goals, which earned him the top scorer award.
