The Management of the Nigerian Nationwide League One (NLO) has assured that in spite of recent setbacks occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic the league season would soon kick-off.
The South-East Director of the NLO, Ebere Amaraizu, disclosed this during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Enugu on Monday.
Amaraizu made the remarks in reaction to the prospects and readiness of NLO club-sides within the South-East towards the resumption.
He revealed that the NLO Board under Mohammed Alkali; the Chief Operating Officer. Shola Ogunonwo, and the entire NLO secretariat as well as Directors are not leaving any stone unturned for a hitch-free resumption.
“We are putting in place all necessary safe-guards and finishing touches towards taking the largest league body in the continent to an enviable and more professional height.
“First, all is now set for the NLO virtual Annual General Meeting (AGM) coming up on Feb. 18 and to be coordinated in Abuja.
“All the delegates drawn from 36 states including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) are expected to participate in the virtual AGM, where they are expected to produce resumption date among other things.
“During the AGM period, there will also be official commissioning of NLO office complex located at the former NFF Glass House in Wuse Zone 7, Abuja,” he said.
Amaraizu said that the NLO recently concluded coaching clinics for all its club-sides coaches in various zones.
“This is to acquaint various club-sides with modern coaching techniques and priorities for efficiency ahead of the league resumption,’’ he said.
NAN reports that NLO is the third tier league in the country, which is regarded as the cradle of Nigeria football. (NAN)
