Arsenal eyes Boniface

By Daily Sports Nigeria on January 3, 2023

According to CBS Sports via tbrfootball, Arsenal have added Bayer Leverkusen star Victor Boniface to their list of potential signings for the January transfer window.

The north London club want to bring in a new striker to bolster their attacking department as they seek to beat Manchester City and Liverpool to the Premier League title.

Boniface’s brilliant start to his life in the Bundesliga has attracted interest from Arsenal who according to the report is deemed as an alternative to Ivan Toney.

Boniface’s international teammate Victor Osimhen and Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez are also on the radar of the Premier League giants.

Toney will be eligible to play football once again next month and is to be valued for more than £80 million, which Arsenal deem excessive and that is why they are targeting an alternative.

The Gunners aren’t the only English side to have been linked with Boniface, with Chelsea also said to be considering the possibility of bringing him to the Stamford Bridge.

With Bayer Leverkusen also in the pursuit to win the Bundesliga, it might be highly difficult to price Boniface away from the club at the moment.

The 23-year-old is the leading top scorer for Xabi Alonso’s side at the moment , having netted 10 goals in sixteen matches.

He is set to represent the Super Eagles at the Africa Cup of Nations having made the final list released by José Peseiro yesterday.
