SGS Global Volleyball Tournament Ends In Style

New Giants of Onitsha emerged champions of the inaugural edition of the SGS Global Volleyball tournament held at Washington Memorial Grammar School, Onitsha, Anambra state.

It turned out an afternoon of excitement and fun as four Female teams battled it out for supremacy. 

At the end, New Giants saw off Destiny  Spikers 3-0 in the final.The three sets were close with New Giants winning the three sets with a close margin. Both teams showed great qualities but it was Chisom Nwadinobi who won the Most Valuable Player award that gave New Giants the edge over their opponents.

In the first set, New Giants defeated Destiny Spikers 25-23, in the second set 25- 22 and the last set ended 25-22.

New Giants had earlier defeated Golden Spikers 2-0 in three set game to advance  into the final. In the second semi finals,  Destiny Spikers  defeated Refiner VBC by 2-1 in a game of three sets .

In the lossers game final, Golden Spikers defeated Refiners VBC by 2-0 to reclaim the bragging right and win the third place Prize.

Expressing his appreciation,  the general coordinator of the Washington Grammar School Volleyball Court,  Coach  Ijeomah Ndudi said:

"I appreciate SGS Global for  keying into such grassroot development program and giving these young girls a rare opportunity to express their talent, we don't take this for granted and we can only say thank you and pray for God's blessings".

Miss Melody Onah, the representative of SGS Global in her address urged the young girls to take their developmental stage serious as this will determine how far they will go in the world of Volleyball.
