Kano Pillars teammates Isah Yusuf and Yakubu Mohammed has been named as the Most Valuable Player and Best Goalkeeper respectively at the 2023 National Para Games in Abuja, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
Team Kano edged Team Kwara 3–0 in an absorbing contest to claim top honours in amputee football at the second edition of the National Para Games.
In the thrilling final held at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja, Isah Yusuf opened the scoring for Pillars, Malam Hotoro scored the second, and Abba Musa grabbed the third goal.
Earlier, Yusuf scored two goals in the 12th and 34th minutes in the semi-finals against Lagos as Pillars won 2-1 to reach the final.
Yusuf was chosen as the MVP after he scored four goals at the tournament, while Mohammad claimed the best goalkeeper honours.
Earlier, Kano defeated Plateau 5-1 and also beat Kaduna 4-1 in group stages before reaching the semis.
