Lagos State chapter of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has hailed the decision of the Disciplinary Tribunal of Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) to lift the suspension slammed on Nigerian star, Tobi Amusan for missing three whereabouts tests within 12 months.
The AIU on 19 July announced a provisional ban on Amusan, this did not, however, go down well with the athlete, who appealed the suspension.
"We cannot but rejoice with one of our own, Tobi Amusan, who was cleared of any offence of missing doping tests. We are happy that she has indeed passed the test," said Olatutu Oladunni, Executive Chairman of Lagos SWAN, who disclosed in a statement at the weekend that the association sees the 26 years old athlete as a great ambassador of the country.
"She will continue to be a great ambassador to our teeming youths, upcoming rising stars and our dear country Nigeria," Oladunni said.
The 100m hurdle current champion is currently at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary competing for Nigeria.
