Enyimba’s goalkeeper, Olorunleke Ojo, exudes confidence as he looks ahead to the CAF Champions League first preliminary round against Al Ahli Benghazi.
In a recent interview with the club’s media, Ojo expressed his thoughts on the upcoming encounter and emphasized the team’s determination to qualify for the next round.
“It is a tough one, and at the same time, it is going to be a very tough match between the two sides,” Ojo shared. Drawing from his previous experience playing against Libyan teams, he acknowledged their skill and commendable style of football.
Enyimba’s recent triumph at last season’s NPFL Championship Playoff in Lagos has instilled belief in Olorunleke Ojo and the players.
He also attributes the club’s pedigree as one of the best and strongest in Africa as a source of confidence for success.
“Enyimba too is a big club in the country and is well known all over the world,” Ojo stated. “I believe they will also respect us.
We are not going to disrespect them, and at the same time, we will not be scared of them because I believe in my club and the players we have.”
The upcoming fixtures will see Enyimba away to the Libyan club on the weekend of 18-20 August, with the return leg hosted a week later.
Ojo, who has experience in African inter-club competitions, emphasized the importance of hard work and determination for the team’s success.
“All we need is hard work, determination, and commitment. With these three things, I believe we will come out strong. We will give our all to see that we qualify,” Ojo asserted, emphasizing a one-game-at-a-time approach.
With Olorunleke Ojo’s positive outlook and Enyimba’s unwavering determination, the team is set to face Al Ahli Benghazi with a confident stride, aiming to secure their place in the next stage of the prestigious CAF Champions League.
