Everton midfielder Alex Iwobi has given his take on Instagram on Granit Xhaka leaving Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.

Arsenal have announced that Granit Xhaka has left the Gunners and has moved to Bayer Leverkusen in the summer transfer window.

The Guardian have claimed that Bundesliga club Bayer have paid Premier League outfit Arsenal €25 million (£21.38 million) in transfer fees for the £110,000-a-week (SalarySport) Switzerland international midfielder.

The 30-year-old has posted an emotional message on Instagram to Arsenal fans after making the decision to leave the North London club.

And Everton midfielder Iwobi is among those who have responded to his post, as you can see below.

The 27-year-old Nigeria international midfielder played with Xhaka at Arsenal before he moved to Everton in 2019.

During his time at Arsenal, Granit Xhaka made 221 appearances in the Premier League.

The Swiss star scored 17 goals and gave 27 assists in those games.

Xhaka won the FA Cup twice with Arsenal, who pushed eventual champions Manchester City for the Premier League title really hard last season.

The midfielder made 36 starts and one substitute appearance in the Premier League for Mikel Arteta’s side last season.

Xhaka scored seven goals and gave seven assists in those matches.
