Live streaming will transform NPFL – GTI

By Daily Sports Nigeria on June 1, 2023

Players in the Nigeria Professional Football League will get more exposure in the coming 2023/2024 season following the advent of a streaming platform, which will expand the coverage of the league.

The live streaming of the matches is being powered by GTI on a dedicated Over the Top live platform and will be available on mobile devices.

According to a press release by GTI Asset Management & Trust Limited, more details of the streaming platform will be communicated in due course.

The project has also been enabled by the world’s most advanced AI Technology and will make the NPFL the first African football League to deploy this technology.

“Pixellot, the world-leading provider of AI-automated sports video and data solutions, and ITV Africa are proud to announce a partnership with Nigeria Premier League, GTI and Propel Sports Africa, revolutionizing sports coverage in the country by enabling comprehensive coverage of the league’s matches in a ground breaking hybrid broadcast format combining AI with human operators,” the statement read.

“The Prime systems utilize advanced AI algorithms and automated cameras to deliver an immersive viewing experience in broadcast quality. The systems capture every moment of the game, ensuring that no action is missed.”

In addition to the expanded game coverage, GTI and Propel will also provide the NPFL with an Over-The-Top (OTT) platform “NPFL LIVE” which will elevate the coverage of the league to new heights, and get national and international exposure to the local talents playing in the league.

“This dedicated streaming app will allow fans to enjoy live matches and exclusive content anytime, anywhere. The OTT solution will be customized to reflect the NPFL’s branding and provide a seamless user experience for football enthusiasts in Nigeria and throughout the world.

“This deal is the game changer that will herald the transformation of the Nigeria Football economy which the public and the respective stakeholders have been waiting for.”
