Inter keeping tabs on Iheanacho

By Daily Sports Nigeria on May 4, 2023

According to Italian publication, Inter Live, Serie A giants Inter Milan are keeping tabs on Nigeria international and Leicester City forward, Kelechi Iheanacho.

The 2010 UEFA Champions League winners are considering the sale of Argentina forward, Lautaro Martinez, this summer in order to raise funds for the coming transfer window.

The forward has fallen in the pecking order in San Siro and Inter are considering selling him with his value still considerably high.

They are, however, looking for a replacement in the form of Iheancho, who wouldn’t cost the club so much fortune.

The 26-year-old, who is currently valued at €17m, has been in fine form at Leicester City, bagging eight goals and registering four assists for The Foxes.

According to the report by Inter Live, the San Siro outfit are really interested in the Nigerian having dropped their interest in Folarin Balogun, whose valuation they consider too high.

“Having removed the profiles of Balogun and Openda – players whose evaluation has already reached important figures that Inter will certainly not want and will certainly not be able to afford – now watch out for another name that could come directly from the Premier League,” the website wrote.

“Thanks to the critical moment that Leicester are facing this season, with the Foxes who are navigating the quicksand of the Premier League relegation zone – in case of failure to stay in the English top division, their current centre-forward Kelechi Iheanacho could end up saying goodbye immediately.

“Furthermore, given and considering the offensive problems that Inter have nourished up to this moment of the season, it could be the players’ agents who propose the name of their client directly to the Nerazzurri management, a deal that is around €10m.”
