Guardiola gives Haaland condition to play against Liverpool

By Daily Sports Nigeria on April 1, 2023

Ahead of tomorrow’s English Premier League match between Manchester City and Liverpool, coach Pep Guardiola has said Erling Haaland will only play in the match if he passes a late fitness call.

On Thursday, Haaland was not present at the team’s training and this raised speculations he could miss the match.

Presently, the Norway player has already scored 28 goals in 26 appearances for Manchester City.

He missed the international break after feeling discomfort in his groin.

Guardiola, however, said Haaland would be assessed after its final training session on Friday.

“We have the last training session today so then we will see how he feels,” Guardiola told a press conference on Friday.

He added: “We’ll see today. And again the doctors, and especially the player, will decide.”
