The President of American Aviation Technology Company, Sabre, West Africa ,Dr Olowo has commended the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN Lagos state chapter for its creative dynamism in sports advocacy in Lagos State.
Dr Olowo made this known recently during a special courtesy visit of the Caretaker Executive Committee headed by Aron Akerejola to the West Africa corporate head office in Lagos.
While being honoured by Lagos SWAN with a Special Recognition Award for his outstanding commitment towards Golf sports in Lagos expressed his utmost appreciation to all sports writing family and sports enthusiast and philanthropist in Lagos State.
The Aviation expert with over 49 years experience in Aviation was highly delighted to receive the Award and special decoration of the Executive Caretaker Committee with the newly unveiled Lagos SWAN kit.
Olowo who is also a member of the Board Trustees of Ikeja Golf Club praised the Lagos SWAN relevance under the leadership of Caretaker Executive Committee. He said he is glad to receive the Award and feel highly honoured that Lagos SWAN is trying to improve on better integration between the Golf club and Lagos SWAN.
He said the Award has simply motivated him to do more irrespective of whatever challenges.
He said over the years, Golf has been significant and trying to get larger acceptance day by day among the common man as to correct the misinformation that Golf Game is for the Rich and important personalities .
Olowo who is also the President of Aviation Round Table said it is absolutely undeniable that Lagos SWAN has played a significant role towards the advancement of Sports and youths in Lagos.
He therefore thanked Lagos State Government for its consistent support towards sports growth and urges them to continue to do more without relenting especially in the area of Golf. He said there is need for government to dedicate more green areas for Golf.
In his address, he noted that golf is a special game as it brings out the personality in one. "You get to the destiny in record time, The man in us want to copy other fellow man, but Golf is Game of concentration, determination and resilience , at every stage,
Golf needs a decision making as he hinted that decision making in Golf is simply a process.
He appealed to the government to make more green areas available across Lagos State.
The Caretaker Executive Committee thanked the Aviation legend for his constant support towards sports growth and unrivaled support towards Golf.
