UCL: Ancelotti names two teams nobody expected in semi-final

By Daily Sports Nigeria on April 26, 2022

Real Madrid boss, Carlo Ancelotti, has named the Los Blancos and Villarreal as the two teams that nobody expected to reach the UEFA Champions League semi-final this season.

The Italian also expressed happiness that Real Madrid are in the Champions League semi-final stage.

Ancelotti said this during his pre-match press conference on Monday ahead of Real Madrid’s Champions League semi-final first-leg tie with Man City on Tuesday night at Etihad.

Recall that Real Madrid eliminated Chelsea at the Champions League last-8, while Villarreal sent Bayern Munich packing from the tournament.

“There are two teams in the semi-finals that nobody believed would get here, Real Madrid and Villarreal,” Ancelotti said.

“I remember what was said at the time, the press and public opinion.

“We got here and we are very happy, Real Madrid will always compete.”
