Leicester City's Ricardo Pereira To Miss Up To Eight Weeks

By Daily Sports on December 27, 2021

Leicester City's Ricardo Pereira will be out of action for up to eight weeks with a broken leg. The full-back was left injured during the EFL Cup quarter-final against Liverpool following a horror tackle by Tyler Morton, which is now going to keep him out of the squad for the foreseeable future.

The Foxes boss confirmed that he could be unavailable for up to eight weeks because of the injury, which has led to frustration as he has just returned to full fitness. "Ricardo Pereira will be [out for] six to eight weeks, That is so frustrating for him with how hard he has worked. For the referee not to see that, it is a fractured fibula and he is lucky it is not worse," Brendan Rodgers told the press.

Leicester ended up losing the cup tie via a penalty shootout and, followed that up with a 6-3 defeat in the Premier League against Manchester City in their most recent outing. The Foxes will be back in action tomorrow when they once again play Liverpool, this time in the top flight. (Sports Mole)
