Plateau State Governor Simon Lalong has rewarded Plateau United players with N1.5 million each for winning the Nigeria Professional Football League title last season.
Completesportsnigeria.com reported that head coach of the club, Kennedy Boboye, also got N2.7 million for leading the Jos club to their first ever league title.
Boboye’s assistants and other members of the backroom staff will share N5.8m.
The players and officials were also given plots of land each.
The governor announced the reward when he hosted the players and their officials at the Government House on Thursday.
The team also held a victory parade around the city of Jos earlier in the day to celebrate their league triumph.
The Jos club won the title last season, resisting the challenge of MFM FC and Enyimba who finished in second and third positions respectively.
