Ogunbote quits Giwa FC

By Daily Sports on June 1, 2016

Gbenga Ogunbote has parted ways with expelled Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side, Giwa FC.

Ogunbote until his claim of resigning his appointment with the club on Wednesday was the head coach of the Jos outfit.

The former 3SC and Sunshine Stars trainer told supersport.com over telephone on Wednesday: "I have resigned."

However, Ogunbote did not give reasons for quitting his post.

Giwa FC secretary, Samson Adamu, when asked to clarify the latest development was tight-lipped.

Adamu instead referred supersport.com to seek clarification from Ogunbote on his resignation pending when the club will make an official statement.

"May be if you call him directly he will tell you about it then when there are development (on the matter) later we shall reach out to you," Adamu responded.

Giwa FC were last month thrown out of the Nigeria top division following their failure to honour three cumulative matches. The club have since appealed the decision.
