Nigeria’s Super Eagles this Friday evening, September 3, 2021, had an easy ride over visiting Lone Star of Liberia in their opening 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification Group C encounter.

The Nigerians dominated the match played at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos, winning with two unreplied goals by Leicester City of England star striker Kelechi Iheanacho.

The Super Eagles have qualified for six World Cup finals and they are keen to make their fourth successive appearance in the showpiece.

Nigeria were winless in their previous three matches across all competitions having registered a defeat to Mexico in their last game but have now returned to winning ways with the victory over boastful Liberia.
