Lyon Rejoin Race For Onuachu’s Signature

By Daily sports on July 11, 2021

Lyon has reportedly rejoined the race for Paul Onuachu’s signature.

The towering Nigerian forward is in demand following a superb personal season in which he scored 35 goals in 41 matches for Belgian club KRC Genk.

Onuachu joined Genk from Danish giants FC Midtjylland in 2019 and has quickly established himself as one of the best forwards in the Jupiler Pro League.

The 27-year-old’s rise hasn’t gone unnoticed with Premier League clubs Arsenal, Watford and West Ham United all said to be interested in signing the Super Eagles striker.

According to Own Goal Nigeria, it is the Hammers who lead the race for Onuachu who is reportedly valued at around £17million.

Lyon have also been linked with Onuachu and according to reports those at the French Ligue 1 club see him as a perfect replacement for Memphis Depay.

Genk will face Club Brugge in the Belgian Super Cup final on the 17th of July. (AFP)
