Liverpool Discuss Re-signing Sterling From Man City

By Daily sports on June 12, 2021

Liverpool are discussing the prospect of re-signing Raheem Sterling from Manchester City.

Sterling is unsettled at City after losing his first choice status and he has been linked with a move away this summer.

The Liverpool Echo says he left Anfield in acrimonious circumstances in 2015 when having turned down what manager Brendan Rodgers has described as an “incredible” new deal, he refused to travel on a pre-season tour of the Far East before his big money transfer was forced through.

However, sports finance journalist Alex Miller now claims the chances of a Sterling return to Liverpool are more likely after he ditched his agent, according to what he describes as a “well-placed source.”

He adds that a “major obstacle” has been removed but Liverpool would still need the price to be right and for Jurgen Klopp to be convinced by the player’s commitment.

Sterling stated last season: “Would I ever go back to Liverpool? To be honest with you I love Liverpool.

“Don’t get it twisted, they are always in my heart. It’s a team that has done a lot for me growing up so…” (Tribal Football)
