Chelsea striker Timo Werner says Thiago Silva has apologised after his wife criticised him.
It came during Chelsea’s win over Real Madrid in the Champions League, where the Blues could have been out of sight.
In the first leg, Werner was guilty of missing a number of golden chances for the away side on the night.
Werner has played down the incident and insisted Silva has apologised for his wife's brutal assessment.
“Sometimes that can happen when the emotions are overflowing,” the striker told Sky Deutschland.
“Thiago also apologised directly to me the next day.
“That’s when the matter was ticked off. So I'm all the more happy today, not only for her but also with the other wives of my teammates! Hopefully, me and the team can get them to cheer again. It’s for the best that the women that are at home are happy, and that the fans are happy.”
It was all water under the bridge after the second leg, though, with Werner scoring in a 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge to send Chelsea through to the final.
And even Isabella had changed her tune, saying: “Werner, very good. That’s what I'm talking about.
“You know how to score a goal. You're the best, my friend! Love you!” (Tribal Football)
