Eze Ready To Play For Albania After Nigeria Snub

By Daily sports on April 14, 2021

Nigerian striker Patrick Friday Eze says he would be open to playing for the Albania national team.

The 28-year-old has been overlooked by Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr continuously despite his impressive form in the Albanian top-flight league, Kategoria Superiore.

Eze has netted 12 goals from 22 starts and he is currently sitting at the top of the Kategoria Superiore’s goalscoring charts thus far this season.

The Kaduna-born player, who has no caps for the Nigerian national teams, also discussed his ambitions beyond the Kategoria Superiore.

“I never had the opportunity to play any category, I never played in any category for Nigeria,” Eze said on All Nigeria Soccer.

“Of course if Albania call me I will come and happily play.”

Eze is a well-travelled player having played in Ivory Coast, Serbia, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Turkey and Poland since leaving Nigerian club Zamfara United in 2011.

“For the respect of other clubs, all the clubs here are good, but my vision actually is to go to a better league and a better situation where I can express more of my talent,” he added.

“With much respect for Albanian teams but I intend to see much more.”

Eze played some of his best football at FK Mladost Lučani where finished the 2014/15 season as the Serbian Super Liga’s top scorer with 15 goals. (African Football)
