Akwa United defender, Namso Edo has said his side lost the top flight matchday 13 clash to better opponents, Enyimba.
The Promise Keepers were piped 0-1 by the Nigerian champions, Enyimba in Sunday’s Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) matchday 13 clash at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
Former Sharks marksman, Christian Pyagbara’s 38th minute stunner proved adequate to hand the People’s Elephant their first away win of the ongoing Nigerian top flight.
Edo said his side are not happy with the back to back defeat but assured the Uyo-based side will bounce back to winning way.
“I think the burden on forward, Kufre Ebong is too heavy on him and he needs support in the upfront, I think that’s a huge problem right now.
“Everybody feels bad losing the home match to Enyimba after another away defeat last week at Lobi Stars.
“Well that’s football we have taken the back to back defeat in good faith to work harder to bounce back to winning way in our next matches.
“Enyimba are good side with quality players just coming back from continental success at Tunisian giants, Etoile Sportive du Sahel.
“Akwa United are equally side, we play good football, too but the final finishing touches are clearly lacking.
“We do not feel ashamed losing to the quality side like Enyimba only that it came at the wrong time but I’m quite confident we will reclaim the points in the next match,” said the Akwa United strongman and talisman to supersport.com.
The defeat against Enyimba leaves the Uyo outfit on 10th position on 18 points from possible 39 in the 13-week old top flight.
