‘Enyimba cannot afford any slip-up in today’s CAF Champions League clash with Etoile du Sahel’

By Daily Sports on April 20, 2016

Uche John has stressed that Enyimba cannot afford to lose focus ahead of their CAF Champions League encounter against Etoile du Sahel on Wednesday.

Paul Aigbogun’s men defeated the Red Devils 3-0 in the first leg with Mfon Udoh getting a treble, and they need a decent result in Sousse to qualify for the group stage of the competition.

The defender has insisted that the Faouzi Benzarti’s side should not be underestimated, despite their unfavorable deficit.

“We know they will come out with a lot of pressure but if we keep our heads calm, we will withstand the pressure and even score first, like we did in Burundi [against Vital’O],” John told EnyimbaFC.net.

“The first leg was an interesting game because a lot of people underrated us, a lot of people didn’t give us a chance in that game, but we proved we can beat any team in Africa. I am confident that the same thing will happen again and we will prevail in Tunisia.

“Etoile are a good team, such that if you give them a small space they will hurt you, but we can match them.

“They are well known in Africa and people respect them a lot, but our boys are ready for them. We want to play in the group stage and we can’t afford to mess up now, not when we are so close,” he concluded.
