Osimhen Eager To Repay Gattuso

By Daily sports on November 24, 2020

Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen says he is determined to repay the faith shown in him by Napoli coach Gennaro Gattuso.

The 21-year-old has scored two Serie A goals and featured strongly for the Neapolitans so far this season, though he is currently sidelined with a shoulder injury sustained while on international duty with the Super Eagles.

The big-money move from Lille to one of Italy’s top teams piled the pressure on Osimhen, but he has coped admirably with the expectations and states that he owes much to the warm welcome given to him by Gattuso.

“Sometimes we watch people on TV and quickly judge them, I think for me he is a great man and he is becoming a great coach also,” Osimhen is quoted by Brila FM.

“When I first went to Napoli, I went to his home and I know the way he spoke to me and how he really wants me and this is the most important thing, a man I watched on TV and really admire a lot.

“For him supporting me and pushing me to the hardest, trying to bring the best out of me I want to repay him for the believe [sic] he has had in me which is the most important thing.” (Brila FM)
