Omagbemi can lead Falcons to glory - Oshoala

By Daily Sports on April 11, 2016

Nigeria international Asisat Oshoala believes ex-international Florence Omagbemi can lead the country's senior women national team to greater heights.

Omagbemi began her coaching career in a 1-1 against Senegal in Dakar last Friday, and the Arsenal Ladies forward applauded the rare coaching chance and insists she is doing everything right.

"It is a very good opportunity given to her as a coach," Oshoala said.

"For the team, I think she is doing her best and she is really doing a good job. Yea, I believe she can lead the team.

"Obviously with what have seen so far, I think she is going in the right direction and things are going on well with the team. I think she can lead the team to greater heights.”

On qualifying for the African championship, Oshoala assured her teammates will give their very best to overcome Senegal and ensure the country's flag is hoisted in Cameroon.

"We have a lot of good players in the team and when we have a lot of people playing at their best it will make the game a lot easier.

"We will not disappoint Nigerians. As a team, we are determined to qualify and retain the title," she concluded.

Falcons need maximum points against the Bassouare Diaby’s ladies to guarantee a place at the continental showpiece scheduled to hold from November 19 to December 3 in Cameroon. (goal.com)
