Victor Osimhen reached a major career milestone on Sunday as he scored his 200th senior goal to inspire Galatasaray to a comprehensive 4-0 victory over Kayserispor in the Turkish Super Lig, The PUNCH reports.
The Nigeria striker doubled Galatasaray’s advantage in the contest, taking his personal tally to 200 goals across club and international football.
He later provided an assist before being substituted in the 82nd minute, as Mauro Icardi converted a late penalty to complete the rout.
Osimhen’s landmark strike came after a period of sustained form, having also scored in Galatasaray’s previous league match following his return from the Africa Cup of Nations.
He had gone scoreless in his last Champions League appearance against Manchester City despite a spirited display, but quickly returned to goalscoring duties on the domestic front.
Of his 200 goals, 165 have been scored at club level from 284 appearances, while he has netted 35 times in 51 matches for Nigeria.
His most prolific spell remains with Napoli, where he scored 76 goals, while he has already struck 51 times for Galatasaray in just 61 matches.
He also scored 18 goals for LOSC Lille and 20 during his time with Royal Charleroi SC.
Overall, Osimhen has now played 336 senior matches, contributing 200 goals and 51 assists.
His honours include league titles in Italy and Turkey, domestic cup success in Turkey, U-17 WOrld up title with Nigeria, and individual awards as top scorer in both Serie A and the Turkish Super Lig, as well as African footballer of the year.
At club level, his goals have come across 12 competitions, with Serie A accounting for the highest return of 65, followed by the Turkish Super Lig with 33.
Only last weekend, he became the fastest player in Galatasaray’s history to reach 50 goals, which further highlights his impact since joining the club.
The result keeps Galatasaray top of the Super Lig standings with 49 points, moving them six points clear of second-placed Fenerbahçe, who have a game in hand.
