Former Nigeria international Victor Moses is back on the radar of Russia’s most successful football club Spartak Moscow.
This has been confirmed by former Lokomotiv Moscow chief executive Ilya Gerkus, who revealed that Spartak made an attempt to sign Moses last season.
However, Spartak sporting director Tomas Zorn was not given the go-ahead to sign the Chelsea right-back-cum-winger.
Moses, who is not part of Chelsea manager Frank Lampard’s plans, is expected to leave the English giants soon and Spartak are believed to be keen to sign the 29-year-old player.
“Moses could have ended up in Spartak last season. Last year, when Victor Moses was on loan in Fenerbahce, he already had a chance to move to Spartak,” Gerkus said on All Nigeria Soccer.
“Now Spartak has returned to the idea with Moses. The transfer (if the medical examination is successful and nothing fails, then today it is signed) on a loan basis with the conclusion of a new contract with Spartak on pre-agreed terms.”
Spartak won 12 Soviet championships (second only to Ukrainian giants Dynamo Kyiv) and a record 10 Russian championships.
They have also won a record 10 Soviet Cups, three Russian Cups and one Russian Super Cup. (African Football)
