A delegation of the Kwara State Football Association has paid homage to His Royal Highness, Emir of Ilorin, Alh. Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, during which it presented sports kits to the monarch.
The delegation was led by the chairman of the association, Malam Idris Abdullahi Musa Thuraya, who eulogised the Emir “for his steadfast cooperation with his board” as part of efforts to ensure the continued growth of the game of football in the state.
Malam Musa stated that the royal blessing of the Emir has been instrumental to his success in office and restated the need to continue to seek guidance and prayers to assist the FA in its activities.
The Kwara FA Chairman gave a brief summary of what his board has done since coming on board and presented a complete set of sports kits to the monarch.
In his response, Emir Gambari, a one-time Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Vice-President, commended the leadership of the FA for its swift actions in repositioning football governance in Kwara and reaffirmed his commitments to football matters.
He similarly charged the football executives to be diligent in their activities and make the interest of the state paramount while discharging the duties while praying that the chairman and his board members will reach the pinnacle of their chosen path.
Others present at the occasion were Alhaja Segilola Alaya (FA Board member) and Kashim Agaka (FA Secretary), among others.
