Nigeria international Tunde Adeniji is still hopeful of receiving national call ups from Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr.
This comes after the 24-year-old striker left Hungarian club Debreceni VSC for newly-promoted Chinese League One team Kunshan.
Adeniji pointed out that Manchester United striker Odion Ighalo continued to receive call-ups during his time in China.
This was before Ighalo ended his international career having been a key player for the Super Eagles prior to his switch to Chinese club Changchun Yatai in 2017.
“I don’t see it happening because when I played in Europe they did not invite me not when I am now in China,” Adeniji told All Nigeria Soccer.
“They invited Odion Ighalo because he was part of the team before moving to China and he was one of their key players.”
Adeniji revealed that he attracted interest from Azerbaijan, Belarus and Cyprus, but he opted for a lucrative offer in Asia.
“I had interest in my former league, Azerbaijan, Belarus and Cyprus. Moving to China is the best option I have and in football everyone plays for money,” he added.
“My target is to do well in my new team and to achieve promotion with the club,” Adeniji added.
Adeniji has four Nigeria senior national team caps, but he is yet to score for the Super Eagles. (African Football)
