CAF Champions League: Mazembe Frustrated By Agosto In Luanda

By Daily Sports on December 28, 2019

TP Mazembe drew 1-1 with CD Primeiro de Agosto in a CAF Champions League Group A match at the Estádio 11 de Novembro on Friday evening.

The draw left DR Congolese giants Mazembe placed at the top of the group standings, while Angolan side Agosto are sitting in third spot.

The visitors got off to the perfect start as they broke the deadlock just eight minutes into the encounter after Agosto's defence was exposed.

Rainford Kalaba was the man who beat Adilson Cipriano Da Cruz with a header in the Agosto goal-posts to make it 1-0 to Mazembe.

However, the lead only lasted for four minutes as the hosts hit the back of the net through Mabululu after the Ravens' defence was caught ball watching.

Mabululu, whose full name is Agostinho Cristóvão Paciência, netted his second goal in the group stage to make it 1-1.

The score was 1-1 at the interval following a lively first half in the capital city of Angola, Luanda.

A relatively quiet second half followed as the two teams created goal-scoring opportunities which they failed to convert.

Ultimately, the match ended in a 1-1 stalemate with Agosto and Mazembe sharing the spoils on the night.
