Isaac Success Ruptures Achilles

By Daily Sports on June 20, 2020

Nigeria international Isaac Success has ruptured his Achilles according to Watford manager Nigel Person.

The 24-year-old striker has made only five appearances in the Premier League without scoring a single goal this season.

Success has joined the likes of Gerard Deulofeu and Daryl Janmaat on the English club’s injury list.

This means the former Nigeria under-20 international will miss the league match against Leicester City this weekend.

“Isaac Success has ruptured his Achilles,” Merson told the club’s official website.

“Deulofeu won’t be available this season, he’s got a serious knee injury with his cruciate. Janmaat won’t be available either.

“But everybody else more or less is available. We’ve tried to prepare the players at a pace which really does reflect very much where they are themselves.”

However, Nigeria’s Tom Dele-Bashiru and Senegalese winger Ismaila Sarr are fit to face Leicester on Saturday.

Sarr, who has netted five goals in 19 league games for Watford this season, is expected to start against the Foxes. (African Football)
