Tebas: Ronaldo Exit Didn't Harm LaLiga, But Barcelona Losing Messi Will

By Daily Sports on June 19, 2020

LaLiga president Javier Tebas says the competition will be hurt far more by the departure of Barcelona star Lionel Messi than it did regarding Cristiano Ronaldo.

Tebas feels the LaLiga has handled Ronaldo's shock exit from Real Madrid to Juventus two summers ago.

He said, "Now they will criticise me in Madrid but the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo had an almost null impact. LaLiga must be above the players but in the case of Messi he is the best in the history of football and it is fortunate to have him here. And Barça fans even more.

"We would notice his departure, especially if he goes to another league.

"It would not be a catastrophe either, but it is necessary to value what he gives to the competition. There is not a day that no matter how dull it is, he does not delight us with something." (Tribal Football)
