Echegini not for sale – PSG

Paris Saint-Germain have rejected several offers from Manchester City for Super Falcons midfielder Jennifer Echegini, insisting she is not for sale with a year remaining on her contract, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

The English champions made their move ahead of Thursday’s Women’s Super League transfer deadline, but according to the BBC, sources at the French club say they are unwilling to part with the 25-year-old, whom they consider a key player in their squad.

Echegini, who spent most of her youth career in England, has been at PSG for two years following a season at Juventus.

Last year, she scored the winning goal in the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations final against Morocco, helping Nigeria claim a record-extending tenth continental title.

It is the second time in 2026 that PSG have turned down an approach for the midfielder.

In February, the French champions rejected a late offer from Chelsea, made with three days remaining before the English transfer deadline, as they prioritised squad stability for the second half of the season.

Echegini joined PSG from Juventus in June 2024 on a three-year contract running until June 2027, having come through the Arsenal academy.

She has since established herself as a key midfield presence at the club, valued for her composure, tempo control and ability to influence decisive moments in matches.

According to Transfermarkt’s women’s football valuation platform, Soccerdonna, Echegini is currently Africa’s fifth most valuable female footballer and Nigeria’s second most valuable, behind Rasheedat Ajibade, who is valued at €375,000.

PSG take on Eintracht Frankfurt in a Women’s Champions League third round qualifying tie on Wednesday.
