Players Union cries out over plight of players and coaches owed by Nigerian clubs

The National Association of Nigerian Professional Footballers (NANPF) has cried out over the plight footballers and coaches over non-payment of salaries by clubs.

At the end of the their meeting at the Stephen Keshi Football and Vocational Training Center (SKFVTC) Dinner launch on 16th March 2017 at Prestige Hotel GRA, Benin City, Edo State, the association resolved that the League Management Company (LMC) should expedite action in the signing of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) with NANPF within a period not exceeding 21 days from the date of this publication.

According to a statement issued on Saturday by NANPF AGS (Communication), Dalandi Musa, the union also expresses disappointment and concern for the worrisome plight of  players and coaches owed by debtor clubs in the leagues and the failure of the NFF Players Status and Arbitration Committee to seat and effectively decide on matters affecting the Career and Welfare of Players and Coaches, coupled with the inability of the Nigeria Football Federation to enforce decisions reached by the Players Arbitration Committee,  “a manifestation of the recent predicament of Coach Kelechi Emetole is a case in point, which ought to have been addressed before now.”

It directed all states council executives of the Union to expedite action on the registration of all league players by physical visitation to the players in their various clubs without further delay.

It also recommends the appointment of Six Coordinating Vice Presidents in the Six Geo-Political Zones of the Country for effective Coordination of its activities subject to its ratification by the National Executive Council (NEC).

The National Administrative Council (NAC) Commend Edo State Government for supporting the SKFVTC dinner launch, while commiserating with the Government and people of old Bendel State on the demise of the ex Governor of the state, Brigadier General (Dr) Samuel Osaigbovo Ogbemudia (rtd) CON.

It congratulated the newly elected CAF President Ahmad Ahmad and our own Amaju Pinnick on his emergence as a member of the CAF Executive Committee.
